We are proud to offer up this wonderful golden era 1957 Gibson ES 225T

The ES-225 was originally introduced in 1955 as the ES-225T, a thinline hollowbody guitar featuring a Florentine cutaway, the Les Paul combined bridge and tailpiece (also used on the Les Paul from 1952 to 1953 and on the ES 295), a laminated pickguard, and a single P-90 pickup mounted in an unusual position midway between the bridge and the end of the fingerboard, the pickup in the middle seems odd but helps prevent feedback. 5.1 lbs

  • Profile Measurements: .94" @ 1st fret / .99" @ 10th fret

This 1957 Gibson ES 225T - Used is in good condition for its age. There are a few changed parts ,but this guitar does not have any breaks or structural cracks. Headstock is in good shape with some minor chips and dings from years of string changes around the face of the headstock. There is some wear on the back of the headstock likely from the guitar being leaned up against a wall or similar. Tuners have been replaced with a modern Kluson tulip type single line tuner. Truss rod cover appears to have been replaced with modern type with narrow bevel and no "roll marks". Nut is in good shape. Frets are original with nibs intact. Frets have very little play wear and still have a lot of life left in them. Fretboard is in great shape with no playing wear throughout. Neck has good angle and is easy playing. The top of the guitars body is in good overall condition with fine checking throughout. The is some finish flaking around the top F hole. Original pick guard replaced (original intact in case).Changed bridge and tailpiece. Bridge appears to be from a later 59 style wooden ABR rather than the stock wrap over bridge with tailpiece. Era correct bonnet knobs are in good shape. Back of headstock is in good shape with minor finish checking. No breaks or repairs. There is some wear on the back of the top back of the headstock likely from the guitar being leaned up against a wall or similar as previously noted. Back of neck is in very good condition with no wear. There is a hold on the top of the neck heal from a previously removed strap button. Back of body appears to have heavy checking through out and may be evidence of the guitar being damp at some point in its life. Checking is on the finish only and does not appear to have damaged the guitar in anyway. Brown Lifton case shows minor moisture damage on the inside consistent with these findings. outside of case is in good overall shape with wear expected for its age. Electronics work as they should without issue.  Overall this is a great player grade vintage instrument that is sure to increase in value over time.
