The Greco-made guitars of the 1970's are become more broadly known in the guitar community to be almost as good - and in some cases, better - than their name-brand sources of inspiration! This made-in-Japan guitar is very fun to play, and is built with a small, C-shape neck. The original Maxon pickups sound amazing, and definitely deliver that classic PAF reminiscent tone! This beauty has aged like a fine wine - plenty of honest cosmetic wear on this beauty that only adds to the mojo and character that this guitar exudes!
This previously owned Greco EG500 is in Very Good condition. The headstock has some small dings in the sides and top. but no breaks or damage that threaten its structural integrity. The guitar weighs 9.5 lbs. The front face of the headstock shows scratching from previous restrings, and some glue residue from a previous nut repair that leaked onto the surrounding area. The fingerboard around the first 2 frets also have some of this residue on them that can only be seen when the light hits them just right - not visible from a distance, and can't be felt when playing / does not negatively affect the playability of the guitar. The frets are incredibly clean, and show almost no signs of use whatsoever, 9.9 / 10 overall fret condition. The back of the neck is very clean, with only one small ding to note (hardly noticeable when playing). A few small dings are present on the top, one medium size dings near the toggle is the only one that is through the finish. The back has plenty of buckle rash consistent with normal use. A few small dings and dents are present along the sides of the body, but none that are serious or that expose bare wood. Chrome hardware shows light signs of use, but is overall in very good shape. The TOM bridge on this guitar is collapsing - it is still functional and very playable in its current condition, but would be a good candidate for replacement in the near future. Pickups and are original excepting the aftermarket locking tuning machine. No case or accessories included.
