This Martin HD-28 is extremely, plays amazingly well, and comes with its original hardshell case included with the guitar from the factory. This one has some very, very slight signs of use , and remains in EXCELLENT condition. There are no noticeable dings, or dents, just light clear-coat wear and slight imperfections in a few places. The original frets show little to no wear, and the setup is great with no buzzy or dead spots.
The tone is loud and authoritative, with punchy lows and excellent highs. The neck is nearly straight with just slight amount of relief, and there is still plenty of room on the saddle of the action to be lowered. There is tad bit of "fall away" - or slight downward ramping on the last few frets, at the neck joint, but the strings still ring loud and clear all of the way to the last fret on all all strings. We this on most Martins over time, as well as a large percentage of acoustics that pass through our shop. There is slight bit of shrinkage to the plastic cap on the heel, but no neck separation to speak of. The tone is loud and consistent, and the playability is great.Ā
The original Martin tuning machines would swapped with another set of drop-in Martin tuning machines with Ebony colored buttons. The original tuning machines are included.Ā
