This is a demo model of the Jackson Audio Cory Wong signature "The Optimist" pedal in pristine, mint condition. It has been lightly used, looks and functions exactly like new, and comes complete with its original box.

Why The Optimist?

Designed in collaboration with Grammy-nominated funk master Cory Wong, The Optimist solves the problem of trying to stack independent drives without losing clarity or introducing unwanted noise. It packs two legendary, contrasting overdrive circuits and an incredibly powerful active EQ into a single pedalboard-friendly enclosure.

  • OD1 (The Mythical Mid-Bump): A perfect, part-for-part recreation of the legendary "Klon" circuit. It features hard-to-find germanium diodes to deliver that famous, organic, touch-responsive midrange push that cuts beautifully through any mix.

  • OD2 (The Transparent Ruler): Based on the flat-response "Timmy" style circuit, OD2 provides full-range, transparent overdrive. It is ideal for independent rhythm work or stacking directly into OD1 to act as a massive harmonic enhancer without getting muddy or squealing.

  • Studio-Grade 3-Band EQ: Inspired by the legendary Baxandall studio equalizers, this active EQ circuit is specifically sweetened for guitarists (+/- 12dB boost/cut). It is expertly voiced to pull the perfect sparkle and snap out of single-coils or to balance out darker humbuckers. The EQ can be run standalone or stacked post-drive, and the back-lit control knobs illuminate when it's active.

  • Full MIDI Control: Both overdrive channels and the EQ can be independently bypassed and controlled via standard MIDI (via the 1/4" TRS MIDI jack), making it incredibly easy to integrate into complex switching rigs.
