Vintage 1970s Yamaha FG-300 Acoustic Guitar (Orange Label)

Description:

Up for sale is a legendary vintage 1970s Yamaha FG-300 acoustic guitar, proudly made in Japan at the renowned Nippon Gakki factory. Often referred to by vintage acoustic enthusiasts as the "Hummingbird Killer," the FG-300 was Yamaha’s top-tier non-handcrafted flagship of the era, designed to go toe-to-toe with the finest American jumbos.

This specific model features the highly sought-after Orange Label. It delivers a massive, warm, and perfectly balanced tone thanks to Yamaha's incredibly high-quality laminate construction—pairing a Spruce top with Rosewood back and sides. Whether you are heavy strumming or fingerpicking, the projection and clarity on this guitar are exactly why vintage Yamahas have such a devoted following.

It also features the model's signature ornate Hummingbird-style pickguard, split pearl fretboard inlays, and a non-adjustable bridge fitted with a bone saddle for excellent resonance and tuning stability.

Condition

Condition: Good (Used)

This is a true vintage player's guitar and shows expected signs of wear for an instrument that has been played over the last 50 years. It is in good overall condition but does have cosmetic imperfections. Please carefully review all photos to assess the exact cosmetic condition.

  • Shows standard vintage wear, including visible dings, blemishes, and finish hazing throughout the body and neck.

  • No major structural breaks, but it wears its history visibly.

  • Plays great and is ready for its next session, but is sold as-is due to the cosmetic wear.

Feel free to reach out with any questions or if you need additional photos of specific blemishes!
